CSB is produced after beet molasses undergoes ion exclusion separation where sugar molecules are separated from molasses resulting in a product that when compared with molasses has increased concentration of crude protein (CP, 19.0% versus 8.5%) and ash (29.0% versus 11.3%). Weidmer et al., 1992.
